Key Chorale

Body

Key Chorale is excited by the opportunity to work with the Woman’s Exchange to bring an important element of our cultural history to life with performances of “Annelies” - a musical setting of the diaries of Anne Frank by British composer Ames Whitbourn. In addition to the concerts, this project will also be the core of a documentary fi lm about the Frank family and the Holocaust in which interviews with local survivors of that ghastly event will be coordinated with the music, promising both a riveting musical-dramatic experience and a landmark for the arts and culture of Sarasota.

The North Port Chorale

Body

In these times of increasing gas prices, economic difficulties and ever rising costs, the Woman’s Exchange grant will enable the North Port Chorale to continue singing for our community. Studies have shown how beneficial music is for both the participant and the audience. Imagine a community without music: it would be like having a body without a soul. The Woman’s Exchange grant helps to continue our mission of providing that “soul” to our area residents and friends. Thank you!”

La Musica

Body

For more than a dozen years, The Exchange has been the major sponsor of La Musica’s student outreach. For many years, it made possible special live performances for third graders of Sarasota and Manatee counties. In the past two years, The Exchange has helped La Musica expand its offerings ten-fold via a DVD and curriculum guide made available for third, fourth, and fifth grade students. Thus, many more students get to see a filmed live performance created especially for them.
