A Little Attention Before Coming May Save Disappointment at Acceptance.
Before loading your car on consignment day, PLEASE CALL 955-7859 and simply dial 1 for an update on what will be accepted for consignment. it is our best source for letting you know what will be accepted on any given day due to such situations as temporary overstock.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Inventory accepted for consignment is based on supply and demand and therefore may change frequently. Please call 941-955-7859 for updates prior to consigning.
Always check items for wear, fading and flaws. Cleanliness counts! Dusty, soiled, tarnished or stained items are not acceptable! Battery-operated items must have batteries and be in working condition. Clothing must be stylish, freshly cleaned and on hangers. Dishes, glasses, etc. accepted in sets of 4 or more. All linens must be labeled with measurements. Seasonal: Holiday items accepted 6 weeks prior to the holiday. Winter clothing accepted October through January and furs are accepted by appointment. Lamps and chandeliers should have working bulbs installed.
DUE TO SPACE LIMITATIONS WE MUST HANDLE THE CONSIGNMENT OF CERTAIN ITEMS WITH DISCRETION. THE LIST IS AS FOLLOWS: HANGING ART WORK AND MIRRORS LARGER THAN 3’X3’ will be accepted on Thursdays by appointment only. Appointments will be scheduled through the business office. OVERSIZED MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS – Categorized as anything larger than 14” in height and width. We are looking for higher priced items in this category. Retail space is extremely valuable at the Exchange and the return on investment must be in line with the space required to display these items properly. Although we would like nothing more than to be able to take everything you bring, please be advised that Woman’s Exchange staff will be extremely selective in what they choose to accept. COMFORTERS/DUVET/COVERLET OR BLANKETS: Although comforters sell extremely well at the Exchange, they are also bulky, requiring a great deal of space to display. Since these items are also heavy and often times difficult to transport, we ask that our consigners only bring in 1 comforter/duvet/coverlet or blanket, 2 if matching, at one time. Due to the fact that we see up to 200 consigners on any consignment day, only quality linens in pristine condition will be accepted for consignments. FURNITURE: Please note that it may take up to two weeks before we can accept your furniture on consignment so please plan accordingly.
THANK YOU in advance for your kind understanding and ongoing support of the Woman’s Exchange and its commitment to the arts of our community.
